Nell Freudenberger is one of my favorite authors, and is ranked in my mind among Munro, Patchett, and Alexie--when I first read "The Tutor" a few years ago, my breath was taken away by its beauty. I have read many more short stories since "The Tutor" by various authors, and yet it still remained in my mind, bright and fresh. I was scared to re-read it after a couple of years because I didn't want my memory to be disappointed. But last night I read it, and I was not disappointed. In fact, I loved it even more. I look forward to reading more works by Freudenberger, and I think she has a lot of potential.
