Maile Meloy

Maile Meloy was born in Helena, Montana in 1972 and has lived in southern California for the past ten years. She received an MFA from the University of California, Irvine, and is the author of a short story collection, Half in Love, and of the novels Liars and Saints and A Family Daughter, all published by John Murray in the UK and by Scribner in the US. Her stories have appeared in The New Yorker and the Paris Review, and she has received the Aga Khan Prize for Fiction, the PEN/Malamud Award for Short Fiction, a Guggenheim Fellowship and other awards. Liars and Saints was shortlisted for the Orange Prize. 'O Tannenbaum' is a new story.
