Gabe Hudson

Gabe Hudson was born in 1971 and grew up in Austin, Texas. He served as a rifleman in the Marine Corps Reserve, and received an MFA from Brown University. His short story collection, Dear Mr President (Vintage US), has been translated into seven languages, was a Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award finalist, and has received the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Hudson teaches in the creative writing programme at Princeton University, and is an editor-at-large for McSweeney's. In recent years he has travelled extensively in Thailand and Vietnam, where he met his fiancée, Tu Tuyet Ha. 'Hard Core' is an excerpt from his novel-in-progress, American Buddha, which will be published by Knopf.
